The absolute onslaught from all corners of the globe and all manner of problems is more than we are physically capably of taking in. Of course, as are the experiences and traumas they depict, but the human brain is not prepared to know as much as we now know all the time through media, globalization, and the 24 hour news cycle. We have not evolved there yet.
