Squiggle & Heart No. 43

Last week I had a chat with my students about creating a name for their professional life that is much bigger than “director” or “writer” or “actor,” but rather encompasses all of who they are - all of the art they make, all of their intentionality, all of their service. For me that term is “Kindness Farmer.” Kindness Farming encompasses all that I do, all the art I make, regardless of medium. It even holds space for day jobs. When I was working survival jobs [sometimes 5 or more at a time] I could find ways to kindness farm regardless of whether the occupation I currently had was what I wanted to be doing. It means I am always my full self, regardless.

Go farm some kindness today. I promise it makes work more fun.
