Kid Prompts, Season 2 Episode 4: Thea
I am so excited to share with you, Thea, my first 10-year-old in the show, who gave me an absolutely brilliant and hilarious prompt. Thea and I talk drawing, coloring, baking, and laughing when we mess up. Thea wanted to see:
“A concert on a yacht that’s being over-run by walking sharks and there is a bunch of seagulls in the air."
I was connected to Thea through my dear friend Bob, who is Thea’s 5th grade teacher. I had the absolute privilege and delight of Zooming in to Thea/Bob’s class Friday morning. They go to see the episode before anyone else in the world, and asked me all sorts of brilliant questions about art and making TV.
Getting to hear from kids about the show - and get some helpful feedback! - was an honor and a joy. If you know a teacher who would like to incorporate Kid Prompts into their lessons and want to talk about a class visit - either in person or virtually - please get in touch!
Sometimes, right now, it can feel wrong to feel so joyful in a time of so much dire suffering and fear. But The Quietest Voice said to me in meditation this morning, “Be filled by what fills you without apology.” We need to be full in order to be a Helper, and these kids absolutely filled my heart!
