Kid Prompts Season 2, Episode 2: Fiona
Those of you who are around my age will remember the particular pre-streaming-technology experience of Saturday Morning Cartoons - when you couldn’t decide what to watch, but you had the joy of memorizing the programming schedule of your favorite animated series. I think unconsciously this was on my mind when I decided to release Kid Prompts ever Saturday morning!
This week I’m joined by Fiona, who’s got a laugh that will absolutely make your day. Fiona is 7, and wanted to see, "A cheetah eating a plate of chicken nuggets at a restaurant."
I’ve been burning the candle at both ends these days, between the start of the semester and various personal projects (not the least of which is both shooting and editing new Kid Prompts episodes) so Squiggle & Heart took another nap this week. I will do my best to get the little ones out this coming Wednesday.
Take deep care and reduce your news consumption. Turn off app notifications. Be intentional with how you engage. You decide what and when you read, not your phone. Forces that would control you want you scared, frantic, scrolling, and on a rollercoaster. Breathe deep, feel your body in space, digest only so much as you need to to be informed. Find connection and collaboration. And remember the words of Rebecca Solnit:
“Joy doesn't betray but sustains activism. And when you face a politics that aspires to make you fearful, alienated and isolated, joy is a fine act of insurrection.”
EnJOY Fiona!
